Two arrested in Bradford on drug and fugitive charges

Following a drug investigation, Bradford Police arrested two individuals on February 3, 2025, in the parking lot of Bradford Mini Mart.


Officers from the Bradford Police Department arrested Cheryl Kozuch, 53, of Woodsville, NH,  and observed signs of illegal behavior within her vehicle.

A search of the vehicle turned up crack cocaine, amphetamines, and various other controlled substances. Kozuch was immediately taken into custody. She is due in court on March 5.


Her passenger, Luke McKinnie, 22, of Springfield, MA, provided a fake ID to the police. Officers identified McKinnie as having an active Vermont felony warrant for cocaine possession. McKinnie was arrested and held without bail as a fugitive from justice.


Barnard Man charged in home improvement fraud case


Following an investigation conducted by the Vermont State Police, police have arrested Norman Bevins, 50, of Barnard for alleged fraud involving home improvement.


In July 2024, Kevin Kilbride, 68, of Ferrisburgh contracted Bevins through Middlebury Roofing Corp. for a roofing project. According to police, Andrew Bevins accepted an upfront payment but never completed the work or issued a refund.


Bevins is due in court on March 17 to answer to the fraud charge.


Barnard Man arrested for drug related DUI in Royalton


On February 6, 2025, a vehicle was stopped by the Vermont State Police on VT Route 107 in Royalton for a simple road violation.

The driver, Steven Knowles, 59, of Barnard, showed signs of impairment, was arrested, and transported to the Royalton VSP Barracks for processing. 


After an investigation, Knowles was found to be under the influence of drugs and was charged with DUI, drug related. Knowles was cited and released.


Burglary suspect arrested in Arlington


Derek J. Klick, 40, of Sunderland, was arrested on February 3 for an alleged break-in on East Arlington Road in Arlington.

On that day, Vermont State Police were notified about a possible burglary at a home in Arlington. They found signs of forced entry into a structure attached to the building. Police then observed Klick entering the property. Klick managed to evade the police.


The next day, authorities found Klick and took him into custody. He was then placed in Marble Valley Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail.
